Amazing. Incredible. Empowering. Inspiring. Life-changing.
These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe past No Barriers Summits. Yet none of them seem quite big enough to capture the power of this event. From tongue-guided wheelchairs to paraplegics scaling mountains, past Summits have inspired participants to live as pioneers who imagine, create and enact solutions to the barriers standing between them and their wildest dreams.
Summit 2015: Park City, UT
The No Barriers Summit took place at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah from July 9-12, 2015. The purpose of the Summit was to provide an inspirational platform for participants to envision what is possible in their lives and turn that vision into reality using the outdoors and the No Barriers Life elements as a catalyst for change. The partner for this event was the National Ability Center (NAC).
This four-day event combines hands-on clinics, innovation demonstrations, nature excursions, films, art and music, keynote addresses, leadership exercises and a scientific symposium, all of which defy our notions of what is possible. The overall goal is to bring together people with diverse backgrounds, who have pioneered new paths and are seeking solutions to their challenges, to interact and share ideas. The result is that participants go away with more knowledge and empowerment to create the breakthroughs which will enable them to achieve their own dreams and contribute to their communities. With approximately 50 adaptive clinics including (mountain biking, rock climbing, fly-fishing, and art) the 2015 Summit was our largest ever with 850 attendees.
